GEAN MIX twenty-five

hello!
here is a mix for you! it consists of some things that i've been listening to recently, semi-recently, not recently at all, or in a domain completely irrelevant to any system of time or space.
in no particular order,

if i had a heart - fever ray (the vocalist from the knife. i highly recommend you view the music video for this as well; definitely a nightmare factory.)
heartbeats - the knife (ironically, considering the information above.)
wedding bell - beach house
india india - dosh (find the video of this guy playing "simple x" with andrew bird at bonnaroo. he primarily plays drums but uses a lot of cool effects and looping.)
no excuses - air france (one of my newest most favorite songs. best for dancing.)
beg waves - ponytail (nasty guitar riffs, but really weird "vocals.")
warholian wigs - the dirty projectors (man, this band is weird. i saw them at pitchfork and they were really cool. still cool on album... but weirder.)
fall bicycle - lymbyc systym
patricia's moving picture - the go! team (probably the most uplifting instrumental song i know. makes you want to run a marathon while saving a bunch of malnourished kittens. or just drive around 10 mph over the speed limit.)
seagull - shout out louds (a near-favorite song of mine. if i were cody, i would give it 5 stars on my itunes, even after re-evaluating it.)
broken household appliance national forest - grandaddy (the best flaming lips song that the flaming lips have neither written nor played.)
moby octopad - yo la tengo (this band continues to impress me with their ability to be cool while middle-aged. guitarrist / vocalist married the drummer / vocalist, so cute. bassist is the 3rd wheel.)

i hope you enjoy it. does anyone really listen to these? gimma a comment if you do.
your best imaginary friend,
steve

GEANMIX 22 (Hef)

Hello everybody, I just put my first GEAN mix into Dropbox. This is my first time doing this and I didn't exactly know what to put in there, so I basically just put some songs in there that I enjoy listening to. I don't know what you all have and don't have but I'm sure there is at least one new song in there for everyone. I think its a good mix, but let me know of your comments and such and how to improve next time. I haven't been on this blog either since we first started using it so bare with me...

GEAN Mix 21 (Kevin)

Hey. Well unfortunately I have had a slight drought when it comes to new music. That said, this mix is kind of a trip down memory lane. Some of the stuff people might already have, but I just wanted to point out some quality music that people may have forgotten about. Enjoy...

Gean Mix 20 (Mike P)

Hey everyone, sorry the mix is a little late and not very big. I didn't have my computer all last week and kind of got behind. There's no real order that it needs to be played in, I just kind of threw a bunch of stuff in, hopefully something for everyone.

Skala GEANMIX 19

Hey guys,

Sorry for the late mix, but I did something a little differently. As most of you know, we're having a rave here on our floor next Saturday, so I thought I'd share with you all one of the two mixes I made for the event. This is all some of my best stuff, which means you've probably heard all the songs in it before, but it took quite some time getting them to mesh together into a real mix. Some of them are lame and just crossfade into each other, but without the Master tracks, it's hard to do much else. Hope you guys like it! If you do, I can put in the other mix I'm currently working on when I'm done with it.

PS, this Rave is a perfect weekend to come visit me here at Taylor...just saying.

EDIT: Sorry, NOW it's in there.

GEANMIX 18 (Dave)

My mix is up, I had a 1 month delay because when my scheduled time was up I only had 3 songs, but now that number is up to 19 songs, so have fun listening to them. Too lazy to list them in, no particular order. And everyone better appreciate the album art, god damn, took me so long to find all of them. And if you like the Starfucker song, request the cd, its a pretty good cd if you enjoy the song and the previous song by them. Also the Paavoharju cd is pretty interesting.

GEANMIX 14 (Kevin)

What up. Well I made a mix here that's pretty good. There's no order, but its a nice mix of hip-hop and rock. I'm really feeling the Sea Wolf album right now with winter, so if you like the song of the mix I can put up the whole album. Enjoy...
